Newsletter / April 23, 2012

Final Week to Pre-Register and Appear in a Globe and Mail Ad

Want to be amongst the first to declare your participation in the 3rd Annual Culture Days weekend taking place from September 28 – 30? Artists and organizations of all types are invited to pre-register one or more activities on-line at culturedays.ca by next Monday, April 30. Do so, and your name will appear in a full-page Culture Days ad in The Globe and Mail later this spring.

By pre-registering your activity, you will play a key role in building on the exceptional momentum from the 2011 event and be amongst the first to be promoted on culturedays.ca and in other communications as well as take advantage of the free promotional Tips and Tools that will be available later this spring.

Activity details aren't required to pre-register

Many are in the planning stages for Culture Days 2012, so don’t worry; while you may not have all of the details for your activity locked down, you can still pre-register. Details like location or exact date/time of your activity can be marked as “TBD” (To Be Determined). The important thing is to let everyone know that you will be participating in Culture Days 2012; the rest of the details for your activity can be filled in over the coming months.

For those who participated last year, the process will be very familiar and you’ll be able to log in using the same user name and password you created last year. For those new to the Culture Days movement, check out the Tips and Tools section of the website for free resources you’re sure to find useful in helping you get involved, including a new video tutorial How to Create and Account and Five Tips to Get You Started.

In the mean time, please feel free to contact your Provincial Rep or email info[at]culturedays[dot]ca if you have questions or need help pre-registering your 2011 Culture Days activity; we’re here to help!

Volunteer of the Year Award Nominations

FYI

The Vocational Committee of the Rotary Club of Barrie are looking for nominations from the community for Volunteer of the Year Award.

Volunteers play a significant role in our arts community and without volunteer support, many arts and culture organizations would be unable to achieve their mandates.

If there is someone in your arts group that consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, then take this opportunity and nominate them for Volunteer of the Year Award.

For more information or to nominate a volunteer, please contact Carol Elson Brown at celsonbrown@rogers.com or 705-737-3515.   Your nomination should include some background on the person being nominated.

Nominations are required by April 27, 2012 and the committee will make a decision the first week of May.
